We are home and back in the saddle...

Howdy everyone. We’re back from Europe. What a great freaking time. We met some really great people in Amsterdam and Norway, some of whom we included pics of, such as the awesome bands Motorgruppa and Postwerk, bands we saw in Sandnes, Norway, at the Tribute Bar. We had a great time hanging out and partying with these killer guys, drinking buttloads of Tou beer and Jager. Also our buddies from the Monkey Bar (it’s actually called Int Aepjen, monkey bar in Dutch), housed in a 15th century home. Our good friend Jan and all the other great folks there treated us like family, enjoying Wyndham-Fockink genever (it's Fockink great, you know). Ahh, great times that will not soon be forgotten. Dank u wel and tussen tak, our European brothers and sisters. You made our trip magical. See you soon.

Greetings from the Land of Vikings and Trolls

Hello, everyone. Norway is awesome. We have been hanging with our good friend John the Aussie and enjoying the beauty of this killer place. We've seen the Swords in Rock, three 30 feet tall iron swords which stand on the spot where Norway was united in the year 872 AD (seen to the left), put our hands in the North Sea (Becky seen with it at right), eaten Norwegian salmon (the best salmon we've ever had), saw and hung out with the Norwegian bands Motorgruppa and Postwerk, saw big statues of trolls, and drove an amazing drive along tons of fjords, some frozen, that is absolutely breath-taking. We head back to Amsterdam tonight to hang with our friends Jan and Nadav and enjoy New Year's. Talk to you soon.

Hello everyone

Howdy everybody. Hope everyone had a merry Christmas. We certainly did in Amsterdam. It is beautiful at this time of the year there. To the left is a pic of the swans of the Red Light District on Christmas eve. Since our last post we saw an awesome jazz show at the Bimhuis with a quintet playing all Thelonius Monk, visited the Wyndham-Fockink genever distrillery (as we wrote in the guest book, we love Fockink!), went to the Van Gogh museum, ate killer fish sandwiches on the street, and chilled Xmas eve and day at the house (to the right is our tree). We are now in Norway, staying with our good friend John at his house that has amazing views of the fjords. Tonight we're off to see some Norwegian metal in the town of Stavanger. Go Steelers and Filthy Heathen (my fantasy football team). Skol.

Day 2 from Amsterdam

Hey yáll. It is incredible here. It's been snowing the entire time. Being in a European city with the incrdible architecture at winter time with it snowing all the time and snow covering everything and Christmas decorations everywhere is truly magical. The last couple of days we made a snowman out of spare refridgerator items on our porch, named Amsel (here he is at the right), checked out tons of city squares, and went to watch the Steelers at the coolest sports bar in town called Coco's (awesome food, fireplace, microbrews, it rocks). However there was a screw up with ESPN America and the Steelers game wasn't on so I had to come home and "watch" the Steelers beat the Packers on Game Cast with no sound. The Steelers finally got a win. Holy smokes. We saw Hitchcock's "The 39 Steps"at the Dutch Film Museum in beatiful Vondelpark, where we walked on frozen ponds, ate awesome Indonesian food and doner/Turkish pizzas, and went on the Heineken tour (above is Big Abe there), which was very cool. Later.

Howdy fom Amsterdam

Howdy everyone. This is Trevi and Becky from Amsterdam. It is absolutely freaking awesome here. We hit the Pancake Bakery (this great place right by the Anne Frank House that has savory and sweet Dutch pancakes and carbonated iced tea). Here's Big Abe with our personal favorite, salami, cheese, and bell pepper pancake. We ate at Balraj, the best Indian restaurant in the world (in our humble opinion, which my brother Darren and his girl Rachel can also attest to), hit Excalibur, a metal club, and wandered the town in the snow. We basically had a blizzard last eve and woke up to 3 inches of snow on the porch and it's been snowing off and on all day. Today we're off to thrift shopping in the 9 Streets Area, hit the Heineken museum, and go to watch the Steelers/Packers game at a local sports bar called Coco's. Talk to you soon.
